This Monday, April 24, Fox News announced the dismissal of its journalist and star host Tucker Carlsonafter the chain had to pay 787.5 million dollars in a lawsuit for defamation of Dominion Voting Systems.
According to a Fox News statement, Tucker Carlson’s last show was last Friday, April 21.
“FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank you for your service to the chain as a host and before as a collaborator. Carlson’s last show was on Friday, April 21,” the Fox News statement about the firing of his lead anchor notes.
On Tuesday, April 18, it was announced that Fox news agreed to pay the millionaire figure to avoid a trial with the Dominion Voting Systems company that would place the television network under the magnifying glass for its dubious 2020 presidential election coverage in the United States, in which he is accused of committing vote rigging.
Now Carlson’s program will be called Fox News Tonight and maintains its place on the grid, at 8:00 p.m., which according to Fox News will be an interim show run by rotating network personalities until a new presenter is appointed.
