Zazza the Italian is the stage name of Federico Zompichiatti, a 31-year-old young man who was born in the city of Udine, in Italy, and who in recent years has become a very popular content creator. Currently he has more than 1.31 million followers on YouTube, his main social network.

Before the pandemic, Zazza worked as a mixologist, but with the quarantine he made the decision to rethink his life and create a YouTube channel to show the reality of the most conflictive and marginal places on the planet. His first video, published on March 6, 2022, in El Raval in Barcelona, ​​had overwhelming success.

El Raval is a neighborhood in Barcelona that is well known for its high crime and cultural diversity. The title he gave to this video, which already has more than 3 million views, was designed to leave no one indifferent: “300 robberies a day.”

From there, Zazza the Italian has not stopped traveling and documenting his experiences in areas such as the outskirts of Paris, Bulgaria, Albania, Mexico, Argentina and recently Colombia. His objective is to make known the stories of people who live in these conditions, as well as to denounce the injustices and social problems they suffer.

In recent days, a short film by Zazza generated a lot of discontent among Colombian citizens, but not precisely because of his work or his attitude when making it. This is a video called The hitmen of Bogotáwhere one of the interviewees declares: “I spent 13 years giving up (killing) people.”

Citizen outrage erupted with a video from W Radio, where more than getting angry with the YouTuber, what they wonder is why the police don’t contact him so that Zazza can reveal the secret location of the murderers. An action that could put the content creator in danger if he decided to make videos in our country again.

According to the radio program where this topic was discussed, the police – possibly aware of this detail – have announced that, although this video does serve to start an investigation, they have no intention of seeking out the YouTuber to reveal this confidential information.

The police did clarify that they are concluding whether this video is a montage or not and reviewing whether Zazza’s information can be used to make the corresponding arrests.
