Houston Dynamo qualified as finalist of the US Open Cup, an instance that will play against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami, after beating Real Salt Lake 3-1 in overtime and after having tied 1-1 in 90 minutes.
The match was played at the Shell Energy Stadium in Houston and the winner’s goals were scored by the Mexican Héctor Herrera (45 minutes), the Panamanian Adalberto Carrasquilla (105m) and the Ecuadorian Luis Caicedo (120m), while for Real Salt Lake Ecuadorian Anderson Julio (64m) scored.
The Argentine Franco Escobar (former Newell’s Old Boys) played in the winning team and the Colombian Brayan Vera was sent off after 116 minutes.
The final of the contest will be played on September 27 and Inter Miami will be local at its Fort Lauderdale stadium.
