Tempest Sancho arriving from Spain: the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) renamed it this way. According to forecasts, it will reach the Iberian Peninsula this weekend, bringing with it heavy rains and winter temperatures. Furthermore, according to Aemet, the instability could continue next week, especially in the Mediterranean area, at least until May 1stwhen it could move towards Italy.
Therefore, the respite from the Arctic cold, which began in our country only a few hours ago, may not last long. If this weekend the flow of Arctic air is replaced by warmer currents from Africa and the Mediterranean, everything could change again from May 1st. The reason? The Atlantic disturbance called “Sancho storm” arriving from Spain, which in Italy would be responsible for rains starting from the west.
Returning to this weekend, however, 3bMeteo makes it known that temperatures will not rise across the country in the same way. If we go to the Centre-South above seasonal averages, in the North, however, the increase will be less pronounced, especially in the Northwest, due to the influence of some Atlantic disturbances which will bring clouds and some precipitation, keeping temperatures a few degrees below average. Then there will be a clear reversal of trend from May 1st. Despite the predictions, however, 3bMeteo we would like to point out that – given the temporal distance – this is in any case a trend that could undergo changes.
