New Delhi: Former skipper Sunil Gavaskar says that Ishan Kishan would have reached the first triple century in ODIs. Gavaskar says that if Ishan had not lost his wicket in the 36th over in the innings where he scored a double century against Bangladesh, he would have reached his first triple century in ODIs.

When the young players excel, the hope of a brighter future comes. Ishan Kishan reached the astonishing feat of double century in ODIs. Ishaan did it very easily. Had the wicket not been lost, the first triple century in ODIs would have been born there, says Gavaskar.

Ishan can play all over the ground. Look at his square cut…Like Rishabh Pant, Ishan plays more towards the on side. A double century is an amazing achievement. That too at this age. Sunil Gavaskar says that Ishan has no boundaries here.

India’s next whiteball series starts on January 3. It is against Sri Lanka. India will play three T20Is and three ODIs against Sri Lanka.
