They talk about their fatigue like a ” roommate “of a “adversary” which imposed itself and took up all the space in their daily lives, from a « tsunami » (“You run or it overwhelms you”). They compare themselves to “an empty battery”, “a candle that goes out”and « zombie » locked in “a life without horizon”.
The words thrown during a round table devoted to chronic fatigue on November 23 were harsh. They reflect the suffering experienced in the face of this symptom. “Severe persistent fatigue, or asthenia, affects several hundred thousand people in France who have great difficulty getting their illness recognized by the medical community”, indicates Isabelle Fornasieri, vice-president of the French Association of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ASFC).
