Prosenjit Chatterjee slapped the legendary actress of Indian cinema, Sharmila Tagore. Recently, while reminiscing at a movie promotion event, this ‘Amar Sangee’ famous actor said these things.
Prosenjit Chatterjee’s father is actor Biswajit Chatterjee. As a child, Prosenjit used to go to shooting sets with his father. Basically, Prosenjit committed this crime on the shooting set. He said, ‘How old will I be then, 4 or 5 years. During the shooting of a romantic scene, the heroine slaps the hero, meaning Sharmila aunty slaps the father. This happened immediately after that.’
Explaining the incident of slapping, Prosenjit Chatterjee said, ‘She (Sharmila Tagore) called me during the lunch break and hugged me. And I slapped him. Even when I meet him, he reminds me of the slapping incident. And said to me, ‘You slapped me because I slapped your father.’
Apart from Hindi, Sharmila Tagore has also acted in Indian Bengali films. Sharmila Tagore and Biswajit Chatterjee worked together in the movies ‘Colour of Dawn’ and ‘Yeh Raat Phir Na Ayegi’.
In personal life Biswajit Chatterjee was married to Ratna Chatterjee. In 1960, they got tied up in Satpa. Prosenjit and Arpita were born in this family. But Biswajit Chatterjee left two minor children and went to Mumbai to start a second family. Following his father’s footsteps, Prasenjit established himself in the world of silver.
