Produced by Lyca, Aishwarya Rajini directs her father Rajinikanth starrer. It was initially decided to cast a young hero as the lead role for this film. Later, Rajini was told to talk to Sivakarthikeyan. After this, the Lyca company held talks with actor Sivakarthikeyan.
