SIn a big surprise, Poland and Hungary reject the last two texts adopted, Thursday June 8, by the Council on migration and asylum. Viktor Orban, the Hungarian Prime Minister, deemed this compromise “unacceptable”. THE Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, does not recognize the solidarity mechanism for the relocation of migrants either. The decision was taken by qualified majority. Bulgaria, Malta, Lithuania and Slovakia abstained. Hungary contests the use of qualified majority and demands unanimity. This is not what the treaties provide for and the question has already been decided by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).
