Ankur Tiwari, Lucknow: Case number one, within two months of the murder of witness Umesh Pal and two constables in the Raju Pal murder case, the police killed four accused in an encounter, including mafia Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad. Case number two, a goldsmith’s shop in Sultanpur was robbed on August 28 and an accused Mangesh Yadav was killed in a police encounter on September 5. Most of the accused in this case have been arrested. The above two cases are examples of the swift action of the UP police. Where the police implemented the government’s zero tolerance policy towards crime and took swift action against the criminals. At the same time, the police is under fire as to why even after more than one and a half years, it is unable to find Guddu Muslim, who killed two constables with a bomb. Not just Guddu Muslim, the police have also not been able to trace the main conspirator in this case and mafia Atiq Ahmed’s wife Shaista and two other criminals involved in the incident, on whom a reward of Rs 5 lakh each is carried.

24 criminals have been killed in encounters

After the killing of Asad and Mohammad Ghulam in an encounter in Jhansi, a total of 24 criminals including Mangesh Yadav have been killed in encounters in different districts of UP. But despite all the efforts, Guddu Muslim has not been caught by the police even though he had blown up the constable with a bomb. Guddu Muslim remains an unsolved mystery because before being killed in police custody, mafia Atiq Ahmed’s brother Ashraf was about to reveal something about Guddu. But before he could reveal anything, he was killed by the attackers’ bullets. Since then, there have been many discussions about Guddu Muslim. Some say that he is the mastermind behind the encounter of Atiq’s son Asad and shooter Ghulam, while some say that he is an expert in absconding, that is why the police could not catch him. But the police has not been able to find Shaista till date. Similarly, the police could not find Armaan and Sabir either.
