Speaking to Marketwatch in May 2020, Adam Rosenfeld of luxury real estate company Mercer Vine explained that Jordan is having serious trouble selling the house because of the custom spaces and objects in it. “When you have such a specific and customized property, the sale becomes an uphill battle,” said the expert.
Katherine Malkin, the current listing agent for Michael Jordan’s property, noted that “it’s a beautiful property, and I don’t think anyone understands how beautiful it is because we don’t do an open house, because there’s a privacy concern.” Malkin noted. “It’s not until people are inside that they really appreciate it. And not everyone is financially qualified (to see the house).”
On the other hand, the appearance of the documentary The Last Dance (from 2020 on Netflix) shook the shaker and sparked interest in seeing it. “I’m not sure if it’s because of the TV shows they’ve made or if it’s because people have an interest in looking at it in a little different way, but suddenly it’s true that there’s a little bit of interest,” Malkin told the Tribune.
