Angela Wölfl decided to take an unusual step: a few years ago she returned to Germany after spending a long time in Tenerife and trained as a geriatric nurse. Now, at 61, she would actually like to work in an outpatient service or in a nursing home after intermediate stations in home intensive care, among other things – but only from Monday to Friday and at most once a month also at the weekend. “But when I respond to a job advertisement, they say: That’s not possible,” she says. So Wölfl hired somewhere else: at the Adecco temporary employment agency.

There their wishes were granted. The Wermelskirchen native has been working in a psychiatric clinic near her for a few months and is very satisfied: she earns better than before and the agreements about her working hours are being kept, she reports. In nursing, where constantly filling in for colleagues due to the low staffing levels, this is not a matter of course. Like all nursing staff at Adecco, Angela Wölfl gets a day off on her birthday.
