Due to the high incidence of corona in Tamil Nadu, last year Tasmag liquor stores were open from 12 noon to 10 pm. Meanwhile, it was announced a few months ago that Tasmac stores would be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Managing Director of Tasmag has announced that the operating hours of Tasmag stores will be changed in this situation. In this connection, it has been announced that Tasmag stores in Tamil Nadu will be open again from 12 noon to 10 pm. The time has changed since it was already running from 10am to 8pm.
The unions have protested. ” When stores are open until 10pm, it’s over 11pm to close the sales account. Thus, the incidence of robbery of sales money will increase. Attacks on employees will increase. Therefore, the operating hours of liquor stores should be changed from 10 am to 8 pm, ”said N. Periyasamy, State President, Tamil Nadu Tasmac Employees Union, and K. Tiruchelvan, General Secretary, CITU Federation.
Alcohol is usually sold out between 8 and 10 p.m. However, due to the closure of shops at 8 am and the reduction of shops, the government has lost about Rs 7,000 crore in revenue, according to September figures. It is with this in mind that the management has decided to keep the shops open till 10 pm.
