DECRYPTION – After Disney+, Amazon, Netflix or Spotify, Apple is the last of the big players to increase its prices.
To access Apple’s streaming services, consumers are going to have to pay more. On Monday, the iPhone maker announced that the monthly subscription to Apple TV+ went from 4.99 euros to 6.99 euros, an increase of 40%. That of Apple Music increases by 1 euro, to 11.99 euros. As for its Apple One bundle, which brings together Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple TV +, iCloud, and Fitness +, it will cost 3 euros more in its family version.
This is the first time that Apple has raised the price of its most popular streaming services. In a press release, the company justified the increase in its music package by a “increased licensing costs” which will allow artists and songwriters to earn more. Good news for the shares of Warner Music and Universal Music, which jumped 5% and 10% respectively.
