The Minister of Defense, Iván Velásquez, assured that there are strong indications that the authorship of this massacre was the work of the Central General Staff, the Dagoberto Ramos structure, due to various antecedents that had been presented.

For his part, President Gustavo Petro ordered the Public Force to deploy a large operation in the department of Cauca to capture those responsible for the murders of six people, including the Mayor of the municipality of Guachené.
The head of state also asked Cauca citizens to provide the authorities with the relevant information and the necessary collaboration to identify and capture the perpetrators of these deaths.
The authorities offered a reward of up to 60 million pesos to find those responsible for the homicide. Even the Minister of the Interior has not ruled out militarizing the area due to the latest acts of violence in the department of Cauca.
