How do young people decide if a particular job is right for them? According to several studies, Gen Z workers (Buzzers) are less likely to prefer working alone “because they value human contact and collaboration.” Therefore, young employees care not only about the work itself, but also about those with whom they share the workplace. And yet, buzzers and millennials often turn to astrology, writes techinsider.

Interest in astrology seems to be often superficial. However, it reflects deep social and psychological processes in entire generations that grew up in an era of instability and information overload.

Despite the history of astrology, there is no reliable empirical evidence to support its veracity. Controlled scientific studies do not confirm the link between astrological predictions and actual events. In addition, in reality, the signs of the zodiac do not correspond to the constellations through which the Sun passes at different times of the year due to the predecessor of the Earth.

Western experts note: for buzzards, horoscopes become a way of self-identification, search for meaning and strengthening social ties.

In astrology, a person’s natal chart appears to be a personality map, which shows a person’s certain tendencies and dispositions. Therefore, a buzzer considers it advisable to do a bit of stargazing and find out the zodiac sign of a potential boss before taking a job in a particular company.

The new youth survey also found that 62% of Gen Z respondents would accept a lower salary “in exchange for a better work-life balance.”

Buzzing employees prioritize a positive work environment, with 78% saying the workplace should foster team development and social connections.

75% said it was important for them to have fun at work.

Therefore, young employees value “connection, compatibility and cooperation” in the workplace. And so they turn to astrology.

Western experts write: there is nothing shameful to be curious about your colleagues, but it is more useful (and much more professional) to know the culture of the company, its mission, its benefits and its reputation among employees.
