Wild South America (1): – Video

by time news

South America is a country full of exotic, offbeat animals. Millennia of evolution have produced the strangest creatures. Extraordinary is normal here. South America’s largest land mammal is in charge: the tapir. It is a living fossil, almost unchanged for 20 million years. It is difficult prey even for the jaguar, as it can make itself invisible for almost three minutes by diving. Tapir dung is very popular with scarab beetles, for example.
