Denver: Extreme wildfire in Boulder County, Colorado, in the northern U.S. state. So far, about 600 homes, a hotel and a shopping center have been destroyed in the blaze. More than 25,000 people were evacuated from the area. Tens of thousands of people were left stranded as power lines and transformers were damaged by strong winds. Six people were injured but no deaths have been reported. However, officials said there was a possibility of an increase in the number of injured and deaths as rescue operations progressed. The largest wildfire in Colorado history erupted at 10.30am local time on Thursday. The wildfires have so far engulfed an area of 6.5 square kilometers.
