The only goal of the match came in the 13th minute of the first half. Captain Cristian Marrugo took a corner kick that was capitalized on by Wilfrido De La Rosa, who found himself with the ball as it fell in the center of the area to send it to the back of the net with his chest.
At the end of the first half, Atlético Huila pressured the rival area with a long-range shot that hit the crossbar.
In the second half, the heroic team maintained control over the opitas. The most dangerous play for Real Cartagena during that period came in the 70th minute when the visiting team’s goalkeeper stopped a shot from Mateo Castillo after he got past two defenders on his flank.
