Kanpur: Lok Sabha election dates can be announced any time. BJP has so far fielded candidates on 51 seats. This includes Varanasi-Lucknow and many other districts. At the same time, no candidate has been fielded from Kanpur Metropolitan seat yet. Satyadev Pachauri of BJP is the MP from here. Due to his increasing age, BJP does not want to give him ticket this time. In such a situation, there is speculation that Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak will contest the elections from Kanpur Metropolitan seat, while Satyadev Pachauri is still in Delhi for the ticket.
PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will take the decision on Kanpur Metropolitan seat. Meanwhile, the name of Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak is being discussed from here. At the same time, BJP can also field Keshav Prasad Maurya in the Lok Sabha elections this time. Among the leaders who went to Delhi, except Satyadev Pachauri, all others have returned.
BJP declared candidates on 9 out of 10 seats
Out of 10 seats in Kanpur-Bundelkhand region, BJP has declared candidates on nine seats, but has still not fielded a candidate on one seat. This seat is Kanpur Metropolitan. MPs Satyadev Pachauri, Satish Mahana and Surendra Maithani reached Delhi only after the first list was released by BJP. Now all the leaders except Satyadev Pachauri have returned.
Satyadev Pachauri’s age is not as per BJP’s standards, whereas Hema Malini and Jagdambika Pal have been cited on Pachauri’s behalf. Apart from Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad, the name of Neetu Singh is also being discussed from Kanpur Metropolitan seat.
