Nitin Gadkari has already given a hint about this system. He had said that he is bringing a system in which users will not have to stop at any toll. It is not yet clear how this will work. Because in some reports it has been said that it will be directly attached to the bank account. While in other reports it has been said that there will be a separate wallet for this, in which users will be able to add money.
How much will be the fees-
Talking about FASTag, this GNSS Toll System is going to be expensive. That means you will have to pay a higher price for it. The reports that have come out so far have claimed that the fee of GNSS can be up to 4 thousand rupees. Whereas FASTag is much cheaper. Along with the fee of GNSS being up to 4 thousand rupees, you will also have to make a separate toll payment which is not going to be a part of it. For that, it is going to work in a completely different way.
Will I get relief from traffic jam?
This system is being implemented in India right now. But satellite based toll system is already working in countries like Germany and Russia. This is the reason why people do not stop at toll plazas here. This system has been in place in these countries for many years. But it is completely new in India.
