Residents studying at state-funded places will also receive financial support from now on. So far, incoming doctors of the missing specialties have been paid 10,000 each for three years. euros in hand every year. The procedure for financial support for residents of missing specialties (persons who have completed 6 years of medical studies and continue their studies, usually for 4-6 years) has also been changed.
Now, a resident who continues his studies in a place not financed by the state is paid no more than 10,000 per year. stipend in the amount of EUR according to the estimate of residency costs intended to cover them.
After the city council changed the description of the procedure of financial support to the missing specialties of medical institutions subordinate to the municipality, the same financial support will be given to residents studying in state-funded places. In this way, these residents will also receive a scholarship from the city municipality.
And it doesn’t matter, the resident studies in the selected course. The Alytus City Municipality can award an annual scholarship, which corresponds to the annual cost of residency set by universities (now it amounts to EUR 8,307), not only to first-year students, but also to third-year students.
After completing the residency studies, the doctor will be invited to work in the chosen medical institution of our city for the same number of years that Alytus paid him a stipend.
Currently, 16 future doctors receive scholarships, one of whom has already started working at the county S. Kudirka hospital.
Since 2019, the municipality of Alytus city has been providing financial support to doctors with missing specialties coming to work in the medical institutions under its control. Initially, doctors were paid 5,000 kroner each year for three years. euros.
Since then, 15 doctors have been recruited to the Alytus Polyclinic and the Alytus County S. Kudirka Hospital.
