Will Kohli, Rohit Sharma be in the next T20 World Cup? Selection Committee Chairman Answer!
The question has been raised whether India’s veteran players Kohli and Rohit Sharma will feature in the next T20 World Cup.
The squad for the matches against New Zealand and Bangladesh was announced recently. After this, Chairman of Selection Committee Chetan Sharma met the media. He was then asked by the press whether veterans Rohit Sharma and Kohli will feature in the 2024 T20I.
Chetan replied, “I shouldn’t talk to anyone (about their future) in the middle of a match. They are such great players that if they need to talk about something, they will come and talk to us,” he said.
He added, “If you have specific players, if they are in the team, the youth will learn a lot from them. I see how youngsters learn and train from these great players. They ask people like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma how to handle the situation,” he said.
And “Doors are never closed to anyone. Age is just a number when you are competing. If you perform well and score runs, selectors will be happy to pick experienced players,” he added.
