jpnn.comJAKARTA – JAKARTA – Chairman of the PDI Perjuangan DPP Ahmad Basarah answered speculation that the PDIP might be included in the Prabowo-Gibran government cabinet if the Constitutional Court (MK) later rejected the general election results dispute (PHPU) proposed by Ganjar-Mahfud MD and Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar .
Speculation spread following plans for a meeting between the General Chair of the PDI-P DPP, Megawati Soekarnoputri, and the president-elect from the 2024 election, Prabowo Subianto.
According to Basarah, Megawati’s meeting with Prabowo Subianto should not be seen as a meeting that resulted in a political agreement.
“The meeting between Ms. Mega and Mr. Prabowo is not necessarily interpreted as a meeting that must produce a political agreement to be able to work together in government if the MK later decides that Mr. Prabowo is the winner of the presidential election in which PDIP must join,” said Basarah in the Lenteng area Agung, Jakarta, Wednesday (10/4).
According to Basarah, the political doctrine of the PDI Perjuangan does not recognize the term opposition in a presidential government system, because Pancasila as the philosophy of the nation and state teaches mutual cooperation.
Nevertheless, continued Basarah, mutual cooperation democracy does not have to be translated as everyone working together in government.
According to him, working together can be interpreted as developing Indonesia inside and outside government.
“Essentially, we both work together, if we are outside the government then we will work together with Prabowo’s government in the future if he is appointed president from outside the government,” he said.
Ahmad Basarah said this about the possibility that PDIP will be included in the Prabowo-Gibran government cabinet after Mega meets Prabowo.
