(24 News) Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi presided over an important meeting in the Ministry of Interior regarding the establishment of peace and order during Muharram throughout the country. Reviewed.
In the meeting, it was decided to ban the use of drones in processions and congregations from 1 Muharram to 10 Muharram in the entire country, while the decision to block internet or mobile phones will be taken in consultation with the relevant provinces in the context of security concerns.
Federal Minister of Interior Mohsin Naqvi said that due to the shutdown of internet or mobile phones, the citizens face difficulties, therefore, in this regard, there is a need to take a decision according to the ground realities and security situation.
Mohsin Naqvi said that the federation will provide all possible support for the establishment of peace in the provinces, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad, the needs of the provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan related to public peace will be met. Processions and congregations should be monitored through cameras.
The Federal Interior Minister said that the code of conduct should be enforced, and the security of mosques, imambargahs and other places of worship should be given full attention.
On this occasion, IGs of Police and Secretaries of Interior of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and Islamabad gave a briefing on the public peace plan during Muharram.
Federal Secretary Interior, Federal Secretary Religious Affairs, Chairman CDA, IG Islamabad Police, Ministry of Interior and top officials of law enforcement agencies attended the meeting.
Chief Secretaries of all provinces, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, IGs Police, Home Secretaries, Commandants of Frontier Constabulary, Frontier Corps Balochistan North, South and top officials of law enforcement agencies participated in the meeting through video link.
In the meeting, in view of the rains, it was directed to prepare a plan in advance for the processions and gatherings, while strict checking was ordered on the entry and exit routes.
