Will Smith Faces Sexual Harassment and Wrongful Termination Lawsuit

A former tour violinist has filed a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and wrongful termination against actor and musician Will Smith. The suit, filed Tuesday, December 30, in the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles, details disturbing claims made by Brian King Joseph regarding events that allegedly occurred during Smith’s 2025 tour.

The musician alleges a series of traumatic events unfolded while on tour with Smith in Las Vegas in March 2025. Joseph claims he was initially hired in November 2024 to perform on Smith’s Based on a True Story album and accompany him on the Based on a True Story: 2025 Tour.

Allegations of Intimidation and Fear

According to the lawsuit, the initial incident began with the loss of Joseph’s bag by Smith’s team, which contained his hotel key. Upon retrieving access to his room, Joseph discovered evidence someone had been inside. He then reportedly found a handwritten note containing what he perceived as a sexual threat of violence, reading: “Brian, I’ll be back… just us.”

The allegations escalate with Joseph claiming he discovered items in his room that did not belong to him, including a bottle of HIV medication and hospital discharge papers. These findings, the suit states, led to a fear that an unknown individual would return to his room with the intent to engage in sexual acts.

Termination and Subsequent Distress

Following the alleged incident, Joseph claims he was terminated from his position by a member of Smith’s management team just days later. He alleges he was subjected to shaming and accusations of fabricating the story. As a direct result of the termination and the preceding events, Joseph claims to have suffered “PTSD and other mental illness.”

Smith’s Legal Team Denies Allegations

Will Smith’s attorney, Allen B. Grodsky, issued a strong denial of the claims in a statement to People magazine. “Mr. Joseph’s allegations concerning my client are false, baseless, and reckless,” Grodsky stated. “They are categorically denied, and we will use all legal means available to address these claims and to ensure that the truth is brought to light.”

As of this publication, Will Smith has not personally responded to the allegations.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
