It has been reported that Sivagnanam Sritharan, Member of Parliament of Sri Lankan Tamil Republic Party, has said that the Sri Lankan Tamil Republic Party should contest independently and defeat the partner parties by fielding independent candidates.
Apart from that, even though seats are reserved for the partner parties in the next elections, the Tamil party should field independent candidates and defeat the partners in those constituencies, which has caused a lot of controversy.
He said this while holding a discussion with the members of the Jaffna District Local Government Council of the Sri Lankan Tamil Republic Party at the Nallur Bachelor’s Hall yesterday.

Relo met Ranil alone
He said that the members of the Pradeshiya Sabha should go to the Mangala and Amangala events in the town.
