The recent rise in food prices, which was felt in the pockets of the citizens and even led to the “pasta protest”, managed to calm down a bit before Passover, but after the holiday is we expected to see an increase in one of the most basic products?

The prices committee, which is in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture, yesterday (Wednesday) recommended that Finance Minister Lieberman and Agriculture Minister Oded Forer raise the price of milk, which is a price-controlled product. The recommendation is to increase the price of milk by 6.49%.

What is the reason for the recommendation? The Prices Committee justifies it with a rise in the price of raw materials, which they say has risen by 6.82%.

Finance Minister Lieberman and a member of his party, the Minister of Agriculture, are trying to give the impression of a war on the cost of living, which is the reason for lowering the caps that Lieberman has declared to the displeasure of some coalition members. But the question is whether the move was part of a comprehensive plan to lower the cost of living or just a local move to “calm” consumers before Passover.
