Cyclone Mantus, which formed in the Bay of Bengal, made landfall last week. As a result, heavy rains lashed most of the districts in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu received widespread rains for the past two days despite the storm crossing the coast.
In this situation, the low pressure area formed over the Indian Ocean, South Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal will move westward and strengthen today, according to the India Meteorological Department.
It has also been said that it will gradually move towards the west and remain intense until the day after tomorrow. Due to this, it is reported that Andaman and Nicobar Islands will receive heavy rain today.

Meanwhile, the Chennai Meteorological Department has informed that there is a chance of moderate rain at a few places in Tamil Nadu till the 18th due to the variation in the speed of the easterly wind.
