Will the workload of UK teachers be reduced? – Vanakkam London

by time news

Education Secretary Gillian Keegan has said a new task force will be set up to help reduce the workload of teachers in England by an average of five hours a week.

Nearly a quarter of teachers in England work 12-hour days, a government report has revealed.

22 percent of teachers reported working 60 hours or more per week.

The research, commissioned by the Department for Education (DfE), was carried out in spring 2022. However, the report was not made public.

The report, which was prepared for the DfE to examine issues related to the workload and recruitment of teachers and principals, has now been leaked.

Meanwhile, teaching unions are currently consulting on a new pay offer that includes a promise to reduce the workload of members in England.
