‘Cello Show’ is India’s Oscar nominated film. Directed by Phan Nalin, this Gujarati film stars Pavin Rabari, Bhavesh Srimali, Richa Meena, Dipan Rawal and others. This movie which is going to release on 14th, is being screened in various cities of India. It was also screened in Chennai the day before yesterday.

Director Pan Nalin said after the screening: This film is based on my childhood experience. I saw a movie for the first time when I was 8 years old. Ever since then I have been interested in cinema. It totally drew me in. Then we playfully screened films at home with matchsticks and colored glasses. I have directed this based on that experience. After 2010, cinema film disappeared and the digital age arrived. At that time, I felt I had to say something about Indian cinema, so I made this film. I see this as my emotional tribute to Indian cinema,” he said.

Producer Deen Momiah was with him then. Responding to the criticism that it is an adaptation of the English film ‘Cinema Paradise’, Pan Nalin has denied the complaint in Mumbai. “We are living in an information technology world. Before making such accusations, one should watch the movie. It has won awards at several international film festivals. If there is a semblance of difference, will they give the award?” he questioned.
