Former US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman says Donald Trump will not give up on military aid to Israel if elected president. Friedman also expressed confidence that Trump will repair his relationship with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Times of Israel reports this.
Friedman explained that Trump would likely want to understand why Israel had not won by November, and that his goal was to give Israel everything it needed to win.
It should be noted that after the end of his term and the rise to power of Joe Biden, Friedman purchased a house in Israel. Now he believes that relations between Trump and Netanyahu will most likely become warm again, provided that Netanyahu remains in power and Trump returns to the White House.
Trump has expressed displeasure with Netanyahu since leaving office, as the Israeli leader congratulated Biden on his election victory. Trump has also repeatedly criticized Netanyahu for refusing to support the operation to kill Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.
Friedman noted that Trump, despite his vulnerability, has more important things to do than worry about Netanyahu calling Biden in 2021.
“I don’t think he spends five seconds thinking about that call…Their relationship is more than just the relationship between two people,” Friedman adds, and Trump is “committed to an unprecedentedly strong relationship between Israel and the United States.”
Earlier, Cursor reported that Biden spoke about his failure in the debates with Trump.
