Will WhatsApp soon follow Twitter?

The website WABetaInfo found in the code of a recent beta version of WhatsApp for computers a hint of an interface that allows editing of messages after they are sent. This is an ability that has been used by applicants for years, and there are applications that enable it, such as Facebook, Telegram and, as mentioned, Twitter recently joined them.

At the moment, the hint found in the code does not provide much information: all that can be seen is a pop-up window with the option to edit the text of the message. It is not known whether the company will add a time limit or times for editing the messages, as Twitter did (although a time limit is almost certain, since WhatsApp deletes messages from the server after a certain time, which to the best of our understanding prevents any technical possibility to “mess with” them after this deletion, even if They are still on the users’ devices). Also, it is not known whether it will be possible to view the editing history of the message like on Facebook and Twitter, or just the fact that it was edited and that’s it, like on Telegram.
