Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William and Princess Kate, is turning eleven. His parents congratulate him with a photo in which the future king looks quite grown up.

Prince William and Princess Kate are sticking to their tradition and have shared a new photo for their son Prince George’s eleventh birthday. In it, the birthday boy, who will later become King of Great Britain, is wearing a suit and a white shirt and is smiling at the camera.

As “The Sun” reports, the picture was taken by Kate in Windsor at the beginning of the month. On the official Instagram page of the royal couple, the rather serious black and white photo is simply captioned: “We wish Prince George a very happy 11th birthday today!”

Nevertheless, the boy, who is second in line to the British throne behind his father, has not had an easy year. His mother is battling cancer and has largely withdrawn from public life for months. His grandfather, King Charles III, was also diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of the year.

George was born on July 22, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, while hundreds of photographers waited outside the hospital. His christening took place on October 23, 2013, in the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace in the presence of close family. He was not even a year old when he accompanied his parents on their first trip abroad to Australia and New Zealand in April 2014. Since September 2022, he and his siblings have been attending Lambrook School in Berkshire.
