But the former head of the Judiciary responded in a document:

I do not authorize any public or private defender to exercise such defense.

Terán wants to lead his own technical defense. He admits that he will seek support from other lawyers, but he wants to be the one to present the arguments and lead the strategies at the different stages of the case.

However, he stresses that he is in “permanent helplessness”since -indicates- the National Service of Comprehensive Care for Persons Deprived of Liberty (SNAI) does not provide you with the facilities to prepare.

He claims that, in prison, the SNAI has not allowed him to access a computer, information from the tax file or physical documents. He mentions that he is “incommunicado” and “without light.”

And he noted:

It is not a question of me being transported from La Roca to the hearing on the day and time to say that I have been summoned to appear physically. It is the fact of granting me adequate time, in the appropriate place, to organize my defense.

Finally, he asks Inga to review these aspects, but warns her that, through the legal team that supports him, he has filed a complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office for alleged failure to report (Article 277 of the COIP).

With this appeal, Terán is trying to get the judge to excuse himself from continuing with the case.
