It’s not uncommon for telecommunication companies to discontinue certain services when new technologies emerge.
WindTre, a major Italian operator, has recently announced the retirement of the *123# service, which was previously used by customers to check their remaining credit balance. This change is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to adapt to the digital needs of modern consumers.
The *123# service had been a convenient way for WindTre customers to quickly check their credit without navigating through complex menus or waiting for app loading times. However, starting from October 16, 2024, typing this familiar code will no longer produce any results.
Fortunately, WindTre has provided several alternatives to allow customers to continue monitoring their credit balance and mobile line details easily. These include:
– Downloading and using the WindTre application
– Accessing the Customer Area on the operator’s official website
– Calling 4242 for free
– Sending an SMS with the word “BALDO” to 4155
Changes in Fixed Line Offers
Additionally, WindTre is making changes to its fixed line offerings. Effective from September 1st, certain tariffs will be increased by €2. Customers who are affected by this change have been notified through their invoices or via SMS/email.
Those who are not comfortable with this change can withdraw from their contract without additional charges. To do so, they must communicate their decision by August 31, 2024, using one of the following channels: PEC, registered letter, or by contacting customer support at 159.
These changes reflect WindTre’s commitment to embracing technological advancements and enhancing user experience through digital integration.
