Luxembourg“>Meteolux placed the Grand Duchy on yellow wind alert this Monday between the afternoon and evening. The notice of danger powerl will be in force between 3pm and 9pm, with wind gusts expected “between 70 and 90 kilometers per hour due to the passage of a cold front”, writes the Luxembourg meteorological institute in its site.
The yellow warning is the second on a scale of 1 to 4, where green means absence of danger it’s red extreme danger.
After a weekend with mild temperatures, thermometers will start to drop again from this Monday in the Grand Duchy, with maximum temperatures expected to be around 9 degrees until Saturday. Likewise, the minimum temperatures will remain around 3 degrees over the next few days.
The weather will be unstable throughout the week, with periods of sun and showers. Meteolux predicts rain during the afternoon and evening of Monday. On Tuesday morning, some rain with snow may fall in northern Luxembourg.
See below some advice from Meteolux to protect yourself from strong winds:
Limit travel if possible;
Limit speed on the road, especially for drivers of vehicles or trailers sensitive to the effects of wind;
Do not walk in the forest;
In the city, be alert to the possibility of falling objects;
Arrange or secure objects that are sensitive to the effects of wind, or that could be damaged (for example: garden furniture, umbrellas, etc.);
Do not carry out work on roofs;
