WindTre and Iliad together for a mobile network that will reach less populated areas

by time news

WindTre and Iliad have signed an agreement for a 50% equal joint venture that will invest in less densely populated and low-profit areas, and will increase the coverage of the mobile network. The companies estimate that the population involved will be 25 percent of the country. Initially, the company will be established and controlled by WindTre, and will then confer 50 per cent to Iliad starting from 30 June. The agreement provides for the sharing of the Ran and the antennas and the right to use the infrastructures on the Cellnex sites. The Mukti Operator Core Network roaming service will also be provided to requesting operators. WindTre in particular aims to strengthen the work on infrastructures in view of the increasing adoption of fiber and 5G.
