The government has issued an order to acquire land for Sabarimala airport. 1039 hectares of Cheruvalli estate will be acquired. 307 acres will be acquired in Erumeli South and Manimala. In the last state budget, Rs 2 crore was earmarked for the airport project. The project was also approved by the Central Parliamentary Committee.
