The Minister of Education, Dr. Yifat Shasha Bitton, announced today (Sunday) that the winner of the Israel Prize in the field of Lifetime Achievement – a special contribution to society and the state for the year 2007: Izzy Shretzky.
In 1967, Shretzky founded the Moked Hakirot company, which he held until the 1990s. In 1995, a group of investors led by Tadiran’s management acquired control of Ituran for about $ 250,000, and after three years, Ituran was issued on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. A few years later, he transferred the management to his sons Eyal and Nir and since then he has served as chairman of the company.
At the same time, Shretzky also played football. In the early 2000s, he immigrated to the north and took under his wing the football teams in the city of Kiryat Shmona and led them as Kiryat Shmona, from the first division to the state championship in the 2011/2012 season, and winning the state cup in the 2013/2014 season.
