## Winter Contracts Strengthen Iraqi Football Clubs
The winter transfer window proved beneficial for several Iraqi football clubs, as they strengthened their ranks with new signings. Notably, Al-Najaf Club emerged as the biggest spender, securing contracts with several experienced players.
Al-Najaf Football Club welcomed Tunisian professional “Al-Bashir bin Muhammad” from Ittihad Ben Guerdane and Senegalese player “Mendy” from Al-Malab. Additionally, they signed midfielder “Mohammed Dawood” on loan from Al-Shorta Club.
Other notable signings include striker “Haider Abdul Rahim” who joined Naft Maysan Club from Najaf Club, and Amanat Baghdad Club securing the services of Egyptian player “Mohamed Ahmed Atwa” from Al-Dakhiliya Club.
Furthermore, Najaf Club announced the appointment of coach Abdul Ghani Shahad, replacing Egyptian Hamza Al-Jamal who resigned after the 12th round of the Iraqi Premier League.
The Iraqi Premier League was temporarily halted at the 12th round due to the national team’s participation in the ongoing Asian Championship in Qatar.
