In Calvados, holidaymakers take advantage of the good weather to stroll along the seashores of Trouville-sur-Mer. A restaurateur welcomes an increase in attendance, but fears the effects of global warming in the long term.

In Trouville-sur-Mer (Calvados), the winter holidays have a flavor of spring. The seaside is taken over by delighted holidaymakers, but above all surprised. “The temperatures are incredible. Honestly, it doesn’t feel like the month of FEBRUARY”, rejoices a vacationer. The temperatures are indeed very mild for mid-February: 11°C in the afternoon, either 2°C more than normal for the season. On the coast, the terraces are full, and the auxiliary heaters are off.

Double attendance for a restaurant

“It’s not something like a February weather where it’s raining, it’s cold, it’s windy, where the terraces are closed with heaters”notes a regular. With good weather, a restaurant is twice as busy that a rainy day. The manager is delighted, but fears the effects of global warming in the long term. On the flowered coast, disturbances are planned from Wednesday, February 22.
