Winter Weather Forecast: Week of Rain and Temperature Drops

by time news

At the end of a stormy weekend, we start a week that will be winter throughout: First today (Sunday) – a relatively calm day, during which we will see intermittent rains in the north and center of the country. Most of the rains will be light, but in the evening there will be a gradual increase in intensity towards the first peak tonight. The rains will be accompanied by local flooding in the coastal cities and floods in the streams of the Judean Desert, the Dead Sea and the Valley. Tomorrow will be a stormy day mainly in the north and center of the country – up to the Beer Sheva line. The temperatures have dropped, and there is still a fear of floods or flooding. In addition, heavy snow is expected in Hermon.

Tuesday will be the peak of the rain system. The rains fell intermittently in the north and center of the country, with the essential change being an increase in the strength of the winds. In the south of the country, which will be drier, haze is expected that will limit visibility and increase air pollution indicators. Snow fell not only in Hermon – but also in the north of the Golan Heights. Wednesday will be a day of relative weakening of the rains along with a significant drop in temperatures. This day is expected to be the coldest day of the week, and there is a potential for snow in Hermon, in the high northern mountains and possibly also in the Samaria peaks. Thursday marks a day with a break in the rains in most areas – but with continued rain in the north of the country.
