From the gardens of the Elysée Palace, the President of the Republic presented his wishes for the new year, discussing the results of the year 2023, and the deadlines for the year to come: the European elections, the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris and the Olympic Games.
For 2024, the President of the Republic wishes to initiate the “civic rearmament”, maintaining that belonging to the nation revolves around” a culture “d’” a tongue “of universal values » which are learned ” from the youngest age “.
Emmanuel Macron also mentioned the “decisive choice” which will be played out, according to him, during the European elections in June, between “continue Europe or block it”.
Finally, the President of the Republic promised a “French vintage” for the new year and mentioned the deadlines for this year 2024: the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral, after the fire which had partly destroyed it in 2019, the commemorations of the Landing in Normandy or even the welcome of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.
