DIG/ With a capital of 17 billion CFA francs and owned by Gabonese institutions and private individuals, the Bank for Commerce and Entrepreneurship of Gabon (BCEG) has just obtained its commercial license.

The credit institution will soon be able to provide its services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as very small enterprises (VSEs), most of which are excluded from the traditional banking system when it comes to obtaining financing credit.

“BCEG aims to become a key player in national economic development, by supporting very small enterprises (VSEs) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Also, the BCEG’s main objective is to provide intensive and multifaceted support to entrepreneurship, in order to create an entire ecosystem, which did not exist until a few years ago, thanks to synergies involving public authorities, private operators, donors, development financial institutions, support structures, innovation centers, technological universities, incubators and other accelerators.”, indicate the promoters of the bank.

In an effort to provide more accessible banking services, BCEG will be present in the 9 provinces of Gabon by 2027.

The agencies will be located in each district of Libreville as well as in the capitals of each province around the major markets, work and residential areas of the target clientele.

Also, several distribution channels have been identified, including agencies, mobile applications, convenience stores, automatic teller machines (ATMs) and electronic payment terminals (EPTs).
