This tax seeks to support the national coffee industry, boost its productive capacity in the medium and long term and grow employment and investment in the sector, the decree stated.
According to the text, the aim will be to strengthen the competitiveness of the industry and diversify the sources of supply and prices for consumers.
He Government of Mexico explained that global climate change slowed down the logistics supply chain in the coffee capsule sector during 2022, which caused delays in the entry of roasted and ground coffee in individual 40-gram containers, slowing a decrease in its availability, which is why quotas had been opened.
