With a difference of seven hours: five residents of Ofakim were killed in car accidents

Tragedy on the horizon: A few hours after the disaster in Jerusalem, in which a bus derailed and hit Shoshana Glostein and her daughters, Chaya-Sara and Hana, a fatal accident occurred this morning (Friday) on Highway 4 to the north near Mordechai. It was allowed to be published that the names of those killed in the accident are Yoav Hamari and Hanoch Telker. All five killed were residents of the city of Ofakim.

At 04:32 a report was received at MDA’s 101 hotline in the Lachish area about the accident on Route 4 heading north near Mordechai. MDA paramedics pronounced the two dead. Two other people involved in the accidents were evacuated to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon: a 28-year-old man was evacuated with moderate injuries to his limbs and neck and a 67-year-old man was evacuated with minor injuries.

The Israel Police opened an investigation into the circumstances of a fatal traffic accident that happened this morning on Route 4 heading north near Mordechai, during which two people were determined to be dead, Yoav Haveri and Hanoch Telkar. From a preliminary investigation, apparently they stopped at the scene to help another person who had an accident.

Last night (Thursday) an Egged bus driver lost control and crashed into a store on Shamgar Street in Jerusalem. MDA medics and paramedics who were called to the scene had to determine the death of Shoshana Glostein, a pregnant woman in her thirties, and her daughters, 7-year-old Chaya-Sara and 2-year-old Hana.

MDA forces provided life-saving initial treatment to six other injured people, including: a 21-year-old woman in serious condition, 2 moderately injured, including a 6-year-old boy, and three more lightly injured, including a 4-year-old boy and a 1-year-old baby. Some of the injured were trapped under and near the bus .

Nathaniel Lifshitz and Bar Ezer, MDA paramedics who arrived at the scene said: “This is a shocking accident, under the back of the bus we saw a woman about 30 years old and a toddler about 3 years old lying unconscious, with severe injuries, we performed medical tests, they were without signs of life and in a while Shortly we had to determine their death, a 7-year-old girl was trapped under the bus who could not be reached, she was unconscious and after the bus was lifted she was rescued with no signs of life and we had to determine her death.”
