A early in the morning of that Monday, April 17, representatives of the Syrian Arab community in the state of Monagas, made a floral offering in the Bolívar square in Maturín, to commemorate the 77th anniversary of its independence.
Jorge Hallak, general secretary of the Arab Social Club, was in charge of reading the statement where they expressed their joy for this important date, for which they sent the words congratulations to all those belonging to the Syrian community who in one way or another make life in the entity and throughout Venezuela.
“Syria and the Syrian people remain firm and at the foot of the fight despite all the adversities and circumstances that plague our people, we are still here and worthy of our name,” Hallak said.
He also assured that in compliance with the guidelines given by the Syrian embassy in Venezuela, no celebration activities will be carried out but commemorative ones.
The placement of the floral offering was attended by managers and former presidents of the aforementioned club that brings together several Arab nations in the so-called “different city”.
The representation of the Arab community in Monagas was made up of Abraham Fayad, President of the Arab Club; José Hanna, Vice President; Jorge Hallak, secretary and former presidents Ghandi Yordi, Jorge Khawaja, Elías Yamuni and Ragdan Chaer.
