Eintracht Frankfurt resumes the championship in the best possible way.

Eintracht Frankfurt won 3-0 on Saturday afternoon against Schalke, thanks to goals from Jesper Lindström, Rafael Borré and Aurélio Buta, and took second place in the German championship, five points behind Bayern Munich, still a solid leader.

Frankfurt with French vice-world champion Randal Kolo Muani took advantage of the sinking of Friborg outclassed 6-0 at Wolfsburg on Saturday afternoon, to move up to second in the standings with 30 points.

Kevin Trapp’s teammates lead, on goal difference, a group of three teams to five points from Bayern (35 pts), held in check Friday evening in Leipzig (1-1). Freiburg and Union Berlin, which won against Hoffenheim (3-1) on Saturday, complete this trio. Next week, Frankfurt will have to manage two complicated trips to Freiburg on Wednesday (8:30 p.m.) for the 17th day, then to Munich on Saturday (6:30 p.m.) for the 18th day.
