This Friday, April 26, the Comfama compensation fund (the first created in the country; it was the year 1954) presented a management balance in which, according to its figures, it showed a growth in its services, in the number of people who enjoyed them. , and on routes that are vital to its essence: culture, recreation, employment, health and education.

In a press conference held at the Comfama Theater it was learned that the income of this compensation fund reached 2.48 billion. Income that “was reinvested in its entirety in the well-being of workers and their families.”

It was also possible to know that around 4.4 million people were able to enjoy its services, thanks to the contributions of 120 thousand employers.

In a “moment of maturity”

David Escobar expressed that Comfama is in a “moment of maturity” and his figures accompany this statement: at the Panamericana Clinic it treated more than 260 thousand people. Likewise, he cared for more than 1.7 million Antioquians affiliated with his network of 51 health centers, in alliance with Sura EPS.

In addition, it inaugurated the Employment Center for the Digital Industry, where there is training for people who are going to work in this sector. Additionally, it formed an alliance with Breakthrough, EAFIT and Proantioquia, to study the issue of employment and create job opportunities with more value.

In addition to the balance in numbers, David Escobar took a tour through the history of this family compensation fund, the first created in the country.

In terms of recreation, it was learned that more than 2.6 million people entered its 17 recreation parks, located in all regions of Antioquia. The last to be inaugurated was the La Samaria Wetland Park, located in Magdalena Medio.

In his speech, David Escobar greeted the 1.6 million workers affiliated with social security in Antioquia and said he hoped that in the near future there could be 3.2 million people, the total number of employees of the department.
